Han comenzado en el Uruguay las emisiones experimentales de televisión digital terrestre en la banda de UHF bajo la norma ISDB-T adoptada por decreto del Poder Ejecutivo.

En la región el ancho de banda de los canales es de 6 MHz.

CUE Ltda. ha participado con sus ingenieros desde el comienzo del proceso aportando sus puntos de vista sobre los diferentes sistemas en comisiones de estudio formadas por el gobierno en base a su experiencia de años en antenas y transmisión de TV.
